The Results After 126 Votes (2021 Hall of Fame Ballot)

I would like to publish the link to an article that has revealed how well each of the candidates on the 2021 Hall of Fame ballot are doing after 126 votes. Here it is -

https://www.nj.com/yankees/2020/11/baseball-hall-of-fame-2021-how-barry-bonds-andy-pettitte-all-25-candidates-are-doing-after-15-counted-votes.html

What I don't understand is why Mark Buehrle is getting 10.3% of the vote while Tim Hudson is languishing at 4.8%. Nobody will deny that Hudson (222-133, 3.49 ERA, 2,080 strikeouts) was a much, much better pitcher than Buehrle (214-160, 3.81 ERA, 1,870 strikeouts), yet he is getting much worse support (not like Buehrle is getting much support, either). You should all expect to see Hudson in an upcoming article on this blog. Check out a previous post of mine as well - 2021 Hall of Fame Ballot, which looks deeper into the candidates. The comments are helpful, too.

Note: I am publishing this link today, a Thursday, but I also published an article of my own about Tim Salmon, if you would like to take a look at it.

  1. Hey, you know they got that from Baseball Hall of Fame Tracker?

  2. Billy Pierce for HOF? 211 wins, 3.27 ERA, 119 ERA+, 53.3 WAR. Not that you care about WAR, but I thought I'd just throw it in there.

    1. Yes. I will include Pierce. Here's a fun fact about him that you may or may not like: he was 8-6 lifetime against Whitey Ford.
